BLUE CONTAINERS

FOR RECYCLABLES ONLY

Do not line containers with plastic bags.  Empty and rinse bottles and cans.  

What goes into the BLUE container?

    
YES Newspapers, in plastic or paper bags
YES Cans, emptied and rinsed (aluminum and tin/steel)
YES Cans, aerosol, non-hazardous, and completely empty
YES Glass bottles and jars, emptied and rinsed
YES Plastic containers, tubs (margarine, butter, whipped cream, etc.)
YES Plastic bottles include water, juice, soda, salad dressing, milk, shampoo, etc. and detergent/cleaning bottles. All number plastic bottles are ok.
YES Magazines, catalogs, phone books
YES Junk mail, ads, office paper, cereal boxes (loose or in paper bags)
YES Cardboard, all kinds
    
NO Paper that has touched food (napkins, plates, cups, towels, tissues, food wrappers, frozen food boxes, pizza boxes)
NO Polystyrene foam (Styrofoam)
NO Plastic bags (except the one used for newspaper)
NO Blueprints
NO Carbon paper
NO Metallic papers
NO Tissue/toilet paper
NO Garbage
