OPERATIONS
DEPUTY CHIEF BILL TAYLOR
Deputy Chief Bill Taylor has
been a member of the Burbank Police Department over 20
years. He began his career as a police recruit in 1984. As
an officer, he worked Patrol and in the schools as a School
Resource and DARE Officer. He promoted to Detective in 1994
and worked Investigations in the Juvenile Detail. In 1998,
Bill promoted to Sergeant. As a Sergeant, he worked in the
Patrol Division and in Media Relations. In 2002, he
promoted to Lieutenant and worked as a Watch Commander in
Patrol before overseeing Professional Standards and the
Property Bureau. He promoted to Captain in 2006, overseeing
Special Operations and he was selected as Deputy Chief in
2007.
Bill
received his Undergraduate Degree in Humanities and Social
Sciences from the University of South Carolina. He obtained
his Masters Degree in Public Administration from California
State University at Northridge. Additionally, he has
attended POST Command College, the Supervisory Leadership
Institute, the Delinquency Control Institute at USC, and
Leadership Burbank.
Bill is
married and has two children, a son and a daughter. He
enjoys his career with the Police Department and serving
Burbank’s citizens. He looks forward to what the future
holds, both personally and professionally.
