Citizens and Youth Academy
These academies give Burbank residents and youth an opportunity to see how police work as well as gain a better understanding of departmental operations. These mini-police academies are designed to familiarize citizens and youth with the department's community policing philosophy, internal policies, and the guiding principles of law and ethical conduct governing the delivery of police services within our community. Graduates of the Citizens Academy are eligible to become Burbank Police Department volunteers and assist Police personnel in the station. The Youth Academy also teaches young adults how to go about seeking a career in law enforcement or other public service. The Youth Academy is available to young adults between the ages of 14 and 18.  Contact the COPS Bureau at (818) 238-3230 for more information.
