Program Description: The Trevor Helpline is the only national toll-free 24-hour, 365 day-a-year confidential suicide hotline for gay & questioning youth. Trained counselors are available 24/7, 365 days a year. All calls are free and 100% confidential. In addition, www.TheTrevorProject.org has important information on identifying suicidal signs, how to assist someone with suicidal tendencies and resources for more detailed information. The Trevor Website also houses "Dear Trevor" a confidential Question & Answer forum for young people. The Trevor Teaching Guide, to used in a classroom setting in conjunction with the short film "Trevor" is available free of charge on the website. Copies of the short film are available by contacting the administrative offices.

Mission Statement: The Trevor Project is a nonprofit endeavor established to promote acceptance of gay and questioning teenagers, and to aid in suicide prevention among that group.

Notes: The Trevor Help line was initially made possible by a startup grant from the Colin Higgins Foundation. Fundraising continues to maintain its operation. The Trevor Project is a non-profit corporation with 501(c)3 status, and all contributions are tax deductible and can be made via our website or by calling the administrative offices at (310) 271-8845.
