Following are some of the recreational activities offered by the City of Burbank Park, Recreation and Community Services Department:

Program Name: After School Program - Middle School

Program Description: We provide programs for the middle school age boys and girls at three middle-school sites: Jordan, Luther, and Muir.

Mission Statement: To provide a positive atmosphere for middle school age boys and girls where they can take part in a variety of after-school recreational activities.

Notes: Emergency card must be filled out by parent/guardian.

Program Name: Celebrations Plus

Program Description: This exciting commercial recreation program provides birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions, and corporate picnics. Different programs to fit your needs. We do all the work and you enjoy all the fun!

Mission Statement: To provide recreation and opportunities for children in areas that are not within walking of our local parks. Our Mobile Recreation Vans contain a wide variety of recreational equipment (board games, sports equipment, craft materials, etc.)

Program Description: Children and adults are welcome to take a moderately difficult hike or to participate in a creative craft or outdoor cooking activity. Come explore nature with the Burbank Docents! Visit the Nature Center with its interpretive and interactive displays and programs.

Mission Statement: To foster an understanding and appreciation of the nature environment in our community through education and recreation.

Program Description: The Park, Recreation, and Community Services Department offers: early childhood development classes, gymnastics, sports, nature program, art, dance, and special interest classes.

Program Description: The Summer Parks Program is a drop-in program that offers recreational activities and free lunch for youths 18 and under. Children can play sports, games, create crafts, and participate in special events and many other activities.

Notes: The Summer Parks Program is offered at the following locations: Lundigan Park, McKinley School, Miller Park and Pacific Park.

Program Name: Teen Scene

Program Description: A weekly organized activity such as cooking, sports, crafts, special events, and tutoring. Supervised and staffed by Park, Recreation, and Community Services employees.

Mission Statement: To give the youth a fun, safe place to meet, have fun, and make new friends.

Program Name: Teen Special Events

Mission Statement: To provide social recreation activities for boys and girls ages 11-15. Some of the activities include: dances six times a year; outings to amusement parks; Sea World over-nights; camping trips to Leo Carrillo State Beach; sports camps.

Program Name: Tots on the Town

Hours and Days of Operation: Monthly events (flyers distributed at all parks and libraries)

Program Description: Special events for tots and their adult caregivers. An adult must accompany children. Pre-registration is strongly suggested.

Program Name: Youth Sports

Program Description: Teach skills to youth participants. One or two practices per week, and one game per week.

Notes: Sports offered: Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, and Flag Football.
