Youth Sports PROGRAMS The City of Burbank is a member of the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) which advocates positive and safe sports and activities for children. Youth sports programs provide children positive instruction and build basic motor skills. The National Standards for Youth Sports are used as a guide for operating youth sports programs. NAYS offers programs and services for everyone involved in youth sports experiences, including administrators, volunteer coaches, officials, parents, and young athletes. Parents complete the Parents Association for Youth Sports (PAYS) orientation program to understand the important impact sports has on their child's development.

More than 2,600 community-based agencies and organizations offer this opportunity.
Organized sports can provide a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to learn athletic skills, develop social skills, and grow as individuals. NYSCA Youth Sports Journal Parents Association for Youth Sports The Parents Association for Youth Sports (PAYS) is a membership organization for parents promoting positive youth sports. The program began in 1999 and since that time over 100,000 families have become members. PAYS sets the standard for adult education by holding parents accountable for their behavior through the PAYS Parents' Code of Ethics and by helping them become more positively involved in the youth sports experience. The program also helps parents better understand their roles and responsibilities in supporting the league goals, the coaches and the children involved in youth sports. To become a member:
The On-line program gives parents the opportunity to take the PAYS clinic through a web-based application. This program is available for parents who want to become a PAYS members as well as for renewing PAYS chapter memberships. Click Here to go to the PAYS On-line training program.

I will do my best to provide a safe playing situation for my players. I will promise to review and practice basic first aid principles needed to treat injuries of my players. I will do my best to organize practices that are fun and challenging for all my players. I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all my players.
