SWIM TEAM AND WATER POLO TEAM

Youth Swim Team                                                

The swim team is open to youth swimmers who have completed their Level III certification and are capable and comfortable swimming 25 yards or more.  Swimmers participate in preliminary swim meets.  Those with qualifying race times will be eligible to compete in swim meets.  

Practices are held Monday-Friday; swim meets are held on Saturday.

Participants are responsible to pay additional fees for swim meets and swimwear and provide own transportation to and from swim meets.

Introduction to Water Polo                      

The water polo class is open to swimmers, ages 11 and older, who have completed their Level III certification and are capable and comfortable swimming 25 yards or more.  Swimmers may participate in  preliminary water polo matches.  Those who qualify will be eligible to compete in additional matches.  

Practices are held Monday-Friday water polo matches are held on Saturday.

Participants are responsible to pay additional fees for water polo matches and swimwear and provide own transportation to and from competitions.

LA84

The City of Burbank Swim Team and Water Polo Team are partially funded by the LA84 Grant.  The LA84 Foundation has supported such instruction at all Los Angeles city and county pools, as well as in other selected municipalities. More than 9,000 youngsters, ages 7 to 17, benefit from the Summer Swim Program each year. The culminating events feature the LA84 Foundation Summer Swim Festival and LA84 Foundation Summer Swim Water Polo Festival.

The City of Burbank is a member of the National Standards for Youth Sports (NAYS) which advocates positive and safe sports and activities for children.  Youth sports programs provide children positive instruction and build basic motor skills.
