Adult Sports PROGRAMS
The adult sports
program offers men and women an opportunity to participate in organized leagues
in a recreational setting. Registration is accepted on a "team basis"
only. Divisional classifications range from top-flight play to low-level
recreational leagues in a variety of sports. The adult program offers play
in basketball, roller hockey, slow-pitch, fast-pitch, and modified fast-pitch softball, and
volleyball.
Adult Sports Leagues
The City of
Burbank is a member of the
Southern
California Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF). The mission of SCMAF
is to provide and promote sports training and competition in response to and
conducted by its members. The City of Burbank provides opportunities to
develop physical fitness and lifelong skills in a variety of team sports for
persons of all ages and abilities.
Our
philosophy is to instill a positive attitude, good sportsmanship, sound
fundamentals, confidence, and high moral standards.
The City of Burbank and
SCMAF seek to
uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and participation.
Burbank
resident teams receive priority registration. Players living in Burbank or
work in Burbank based companies are considered resident teams. Rosters
containing 100% or 80% Burbank residents must provide proof of residency or
employment in the City of Burbank. Players may only play for one team in
each the league. For example, a player may participate in both co-ed and
slow pitch softball, but may not participate in two different co-ed teams.

Adult
Basketball
The City of Burbank
basketball league includes play for both men and women in the winter,
summer, and fall. There are leagues for adults 40 years and older, open
leagues (8-9 divisions), and women's league. Men's leagues play
during the week. The women's league plays on Sunday in winter and summer.
Adult
Roller Hockey
Adult Roller Hockey is
played at the outdoor hockey rink located at Foy Park. The Roller
Hockey program is sanctioned by
USA Hockey InLine. Players and teams must provide their own protective
equipment.
Adult Softball
Men's, women's, open co-ed, and
corporate co-ed softball are offered year round. Leagues include men's and
women's fast pitch, men's modified fast pitch, men's slow pitch, open co-ed and
corporate co-ed slow pitch. Games played during the week and on
Sunday. There is a competitive division for all skill levels including
Recreation to 'A' classification softball.
Adult Volleyball
The City of Burbank offers volleyball
in the winter, summer, and fall. Leagues include women's
6-player, women's 4-player, co-ed, men's 4-player, and reverse co-ed.

Player Referral List
Individual players
interested in playing these sports should contact the Sport Office at
818.238.5330. Names will be placed on a "Player Referral List."
This list
will be distributed to teams needing players on a first-come basis. There is no
guarantee of placement on a team.
