The City Treasurer’s Office is responsible for receiving, disbursing, depositing, and investing all public funds for the City, Redevelopment Agency, Youth Endowment Services Fund, Parking Authority, and Housing Authority. Its main mission is to provide safekeeping for City funds and investing idle funds. Considerations when investing include safety, liquidity, and yield. The City Treasurer’s Office provides monthly reports on the investment portfolio, cash balances by fund, and reconciled bank balances. The City Treasurer must submit a quarterly report to Council.
