City Receives Resignation Letter Burbank City Manager Mary Alvord received a letter of resignation today from Council Member Stacey Murphy. The letter was read at the Council meeting tonight, August 30. The statement reads: It is with a heavy heart I send this letter to you. This letter shall serve as my resignation from my position as a City Council Member of the City of Burbank. This is not an easy decision for me personally, however, for the best interests of our City, and my children, it is the right thing to do. Our Council has many important issues facing it at this time. The distractions caused by my personal issues should not be a factor that the Council should have to deal with. It has been a privilege to have been involved with so many innovative and successful changes to our City. I believe that many of our accomplishments have truly bettered our City. I would like to thank the residents of Burbank for their support, compassion, and caring comments during this period. I will deal with these personal issues, and still try and do the best for our City. I can still be a voice for your concerns in this capacity. We have a great City, with its best days ahead of it. Once again, I thank the people who have called and written to voice your support. It truly has been an honor serving you. Sincerely, Stacey Murphy
