Burbank City Manager Mary Alvord received a statement today from Council Member Stacey Murphy through her attorney Mr. Rickard Santwier.

The statement will be read, at the request of Mr. Santwier, at the Council meeting tonight, July 19^th.  The meeting begins  6:30 P.M.

The statement reads in part:

          I cannot comment specifically on the allegations made against me.  I intend to do the job you elected me to do, and I plan on continuing throughout my entire term….I apologize for the distraction that this has caused all of you.

          Because my situation will impact the regular course of business, for that reason and that reason alone, I will not attend City Council meetings until after I have appeared in court.  I will keep up with matters pertaining to the City of Burbank .
