On January 6, 2006 , at approximately 8:34 a.m. , a Metrolink train traveling Southbound collided with a 4-door Toyota at the intersection of Buena Vista and San Fernando in the city of Burbank .    The Toyota was pushed by the train approximately 2,500 feet before coming to a stop on the tracks.  The train did not derail as a result of this collision.

The Toyota was driven by an elderly female who was discovered deceased by responding police officers, and she was the sole occupant of the vehicle.  Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. 

The train contained approximately 250-300 passengers at the time of the collision.  No injuries were reported by the passengers, and they were moved out of the area via another Metrolink train.
