Burbank Offers $50,000 Reward
In Murder of Police Officer

The City of Burbank announces a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of David A. Garcia. Garcia is wanted for the murder of Burbank police officer Matthew Pavelka on November 15th.

In announcing the reward City Manager Mary Alvord said "This cash reward is just one sign that the City of Burbank takes extremely seriously the loss of one of the Burbank family. We would urge anyone with information about the suspect to come forward, and do the right thing."

City Manager Alvord stated that she has been contacted by several Council members who want the City to do whatever is necessary to apprehend Garcia. Ms. Alvord authorized the reward after consultation with Mayor Stacey Murphy and discussions with senior staff in the Burbank Police Department.

David A. Garcia is described as a male, Hispanic, 6'1", 220 pounds. Garcia has brown eyes and a shaved head. Anyone with information should call Burbank police at (818) 238-3000.
