Burbank City Council Seeks Applicants Applications are being accepted through June 27, 2003 by the Burbank City Council for one vacancy of an unexpired term on the Planning Board, ending on June 1, 2005. The Board has five members who meet on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. The Planning Board is responsible for recommending long-range general plans for the physical development of the City pursuant to the provisions of the State Planning Law and to administer such plans through the Community Development Department; recommending precise plans based upon a long-range general plan; recommending approval or disapproval of proposed zone map amendments; recommending approval or disapproval of proposed airport approach map amendments; granting or denying variances; granting or denying conditional use permits; and reporting to the Council on text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. Interested individuals can pick up an application at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall, 275 East Olive Avenue. Application forms are also available on the City’s Web Site, www.ci.burbank.ca.us. The deadline for submitting an application to the City Clerk is Friday, June 27, 2003 at 5:00 pm. with the appointment scheduled to be made at the July 15, 2003 Council meeting. Most City Board, Commission, and Committee members serve without compensation (BMC Section 2-405) and must be electors of and actually reside in the City. No person shall serve on more than one Board, Commission or Committee at the same time. # # # |
