Memorial Day Ceremony Slated in Burbank

The City of Burbank, along with the city’s Veterans Commemorative Committee, will conduct the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 31, 2004, starting at 11:00 a.m. The public is invited to this ceremony which will be held at the War Memorial site located at McCambridge Park, corner of Amherst Drive and San Fernando Road. The ceremony will begin with the Presentation of Colors and a flyover by the Condor Squadron.

Once again, the Burbank Community Band, under the direction of Don Holcomb, will perform patriotic music. Also, Ms. Bobbi Cranston, accompanied by her husband Brice on the guitar, will lend her fantastic singing voice to the ceremony. And, Ms. Anjanette McFarlin will close the ceremony with her stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes.

The Ceremony of the Rose will be assisted by the Burbank Boy Scouts, Troop #204, sponsored by the Burbank Kiwanis. In this ceremony, each soldier’s name that appears on the memorials at McCambridge Park will be read and a rose placed in their honor.
