Applications are being accepted through October 16, 2003 by the Burbank City Council for a new Property-based Business Improvement District (P-BID) Board for Downtown Burbank. The Board will have 11 members who will meet monthly. The day and time of the meetings have not yet been determined. Applicants must meet certain requirements determined by the P-BID Management Plan approved by the City Council. The P-BID for Downtown Burbank is generally bounded by Glenoaks Boulevard to the east, Verdugo Avenue to the south, the Golden State freeway (including the Downtown Burbank Metrolink station) to the west, and Burbank Boulevard to the north. The P-BID Board will be comprised of the following board seats: 2 - Representing Property owners from the Village area (San Fernando Road from Magnolia Boulevard to Verdugo Avenue) 2 - Representing the City and Redevelopment Agency (City and Agency staff and officials only) 2 - Representing the Mall area and IKEA (Must be Mall representative and an IKEA representative)
The Board of Directors shall act in the best interests of all of the properties and businesses within the proposed district. The Board will be responsible for carrying out the goals and services from the five-year P-BID Management Plan including: a signage program; general improvements and maintenance services; marketing and promotions; and, advocacy to promote business interests. Qualified and interested individuals may pick up an application at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, 275 East Olive Ave. Application forms are also available on the City’s web site at www.ci.burbank.ca.us by accessing the City Clerk page. The deadline for submitting an application to the City Clerk is Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 5:00pm with the appointment scheduled to be made at the October 28 Council meeting.Committee members serve without compensation (BMC Section 2-405).
