Burbank Civic Pride Committee Announces
20th Annual Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest

The Burbank Civic Pride Committee invites all local residents and businesses to enter the City’s 20th annual Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest.

"We encourage everyone who puts up outdoor decorations to enter," said Chairman Ellie Myer, noting that only locations which have submitted entries will be judged. This year the categories are residential, commercial, and youth (age 16 and under).

Entry forms are going out in all City utility bills during November. Forms are also available at all City libraries and at City Hall in the City Clerk’s office and the Public Information Office. Entries can also be submitted on a plain sheet of paper with the entrant’s name, address, phone number and category, to Civic Pride, Public Information Office, Burbank City Hall, 275 E. Olive Avenue, Burbank, CA 91502. Deadline for entries is 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10. The Civic Pride Committee will do the judging on Thursday, December 12.

Winners will be recognized at the Burbank City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 17 at 6:30 p.m. It will be televised live on cable channel Burbank TV6.

Appointed by the City Council, the ten member Civic Pride Committee works year-round to encourage civic pride and to educate and involve the community in positive events. Besides the Holiday Decorating Contest, the Committee also heads up the Plant-a-Tree project, Make A Difference Day, and staffs a Burbank information booth at civic events.
