Burbank Civic Pride Committee Announces
Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest Winners

Five winners--1 commercial, 1 youth and 3 residential--have been chosen by the Burbank Civic Pride Committee from this year's 36 entrants in the City's 23rd annual holiday outdoor decorating contest. Video footage of the winning displays will be shown throughout the holidays on local cable channel 6.

"The Committee enjoyed our annual drive through Burbank looking at all the holiday decorations. Thanks to everyone who participated," said Civic Pride Committee Chairman Ellie Myer. She noted that members were pleased at the interest in the contest and encourage other residents to enter next year.

Three awards were given in the Residential category. At 1142 N. Catalina St., Ed Pape turned his yard into a winter fun park with a train and ferris wheel.  Daniel and Aurora Garoian, 1075 E. Harvard Rd, have brightly decorated their front yard with lights, moving figures and large gift packages.   Keith LaPrath created a "winter wonderland" at 529 N. Florence St.

One award was given in the Youth category (ages 16 and under). Sade Robertson won for the decorations at 2821 W. Victory Blvd.

The beautifully decorated Samuel's Florist at 921 W. Olive Ave. was recognized in the Commercial category.

The Committee took special note of a particularly festive neighborhood.  "We encourage everyone to visit the 2000-2100 block of Evergreen St. (between Victory Blvd. and Pacific Ave.).  It's brightly and wonderfully decorated," said Myer.

The Burbank Civic Pride Committee recognizes the special decorating efforts of these winners, all the entrants, and the many other Burbank residents who have decorated their homes but did not enter this contest. Their efforts have enhanced the spirit of the season in the community.
