JANUARY 24, 2006

 

 

September 27, 2005

Council to adopt Ordinance Calling Election and Resolutions to Consolidate Precincts, Requesting County Services, Establishing the Cost for Candidate Statements, Approving Professional Services Agreement with Election Vendor  and appropriating funds to conduct the Special Election.

 

October 3- 28, 2005

Filing Period for Nomination Papers and Candidate Statements.  Nomination papers may be taken out by candidates or their representatives and must be signed by at least 50 and no more than 250 registered voters. A registered voter may sign only one nomination paper as there is only one vacancy. Candidate Statements cannot be changed once submitted but may be withdrawn.

 

October 28 - 5:00 p.m.

Last day and hour to file nomination papers.

Last day and hour to withdraw nomination papers.

 

 

October 29 - 5:00 p.m.

Last day and hour to withdraw candidate statement

 

November 9, 2005 - 7:00 p.m.

Candidate orientation. City Hall Annex Training Room.  City Clerk holds random drawing which determines the ORDER OF NAMES ON THE BALLOT.

January 3, 2006

Mailing date for Ballots and Sample Ballot Pamphlets (E-21)

 

January 9, 2006

Last day to register to vote (E-15)

 

January 21, 2006

Saturday Voting at City Hall and Drop-Off Centers: City Clerk’s Office, City Hall; Buena Vista Library; McCambridge Park; Joslyn Adult Center; and, Tuttle Adult Center, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

 

January 24, 2006

ELECTION DAY!

Drop-off Centers above open 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

 

January 26, 2006

Election Official to Canvass Ballots

 

February 7, 2006

Council to declare Election results

 

February 14, 2006

New Council Member sworn in at Council meeting
