Plan Evaluation and Review Committee (PERC) |
|
INTRODUCTION |
|
During the regular Council Meeting of June 11, 2002, Mayor
Laurell made a public statement about Council’s desire to initiate a
broad-based public dialogue regarding developing a locally acceptable resolution
for the issues surrounding the Burbank Airport.
On June 11th, the Council, through the Mayor, stated their desire to engage the public to help build a strong and united local consensus on the acceptable terms for a replacement terminal and directed staff to develop a public outreach program. The task of the PERC is to listen to input from as broad a range of sources as possible and from that input assemble a consensus plan that can assist the City Council in forming a solution regarding the development of a replacement terminal for the Burbank Airport on the B-6 property. The desired final work product from the committee will be a report presenting the range of views of the committee regarding the "Staff’s Initial Discussion Points". Public participation has been encouraged and in an effort to reach out to a greater audience, committee members voted to televise all future meetings. The committee will be meeting every Monday from now until July 29, 2002, will host a community meeting on July 10, 2002, and will hold two additional Thursday meetings on July 18, 2002 and July 25, 2002.
