The Burbank Employment and Student Training
(BEST) program is a job employment program providing
paid internships for Burbank youth in the private
sector, non-profit agencies, the City of Burbank, and
the Burbank Unified School District. The program
provides employment skills training and is funded by
private businesses.
BEST students are trained in
professionalism, communication, teamwork, and specific
job skills prior to being placed at a business. The
program matches student interns with businesses'
specific desired qualifications; work hours are flexible
and based on employers' needs. Workers Compensation and
all personnel paperwork are covered by the City of
Burbank. Students are hired by the City and are City
employees.
The BEST program provides benefits for both
the students and their employers, allowing the students
to gain valuable workplace experience and providing
local businesses with pre-trained, low cost, part-time
workers!
